Soon the radio will be playing Christmas songs all the time and every hallway will be warped in lush decoration, small wire lamps will sparkle through every window. So, to feel the Christmas spirit we’ve got some crazy garland ideas, to craft on your own. Sometimes people are sceptic about DIY projects, mainly because they doubt their skills. But these projects are not all about the perfect result. You really need to enjoy working with your hands and taking your time here. You don’t need to be a DIY guru to take up something like your Christmas decoration, you just have to be patient and have a projection of the result in your head. Plus, garlands are so cool, kids would love to participate in the making and that is some quality family time together.
Make a pine cone door piece. Instead of hanging the traditional wreath, make a garland out of pine cones, using different sized pine cones, ribbon and some glue. You can make it as wide or long as you wish, add some greenery in the small openings between the cones. That would definitely add some rustic charm to your Christmas vibe.
Make a “Merry Christmas” greeting garland for your guests! All you need is five simple items every household asumingly has: twine, mini clothes pins, red and green paper, adhesive and some plastic or carton letters. It’s more suitable for a hallway, a study or a class room. You could play around with the lettering and the colour scheme as well and adapt it to your taste.
Make a crochet garland with pompoms and bows!
If you’re a yarn lover, that’s your thing! An awesome idea, done with few crochet bows tied up with white pompons. You need some skills for this one, even to know the basics of crocheting is a great advantage. And because it’s a bit time consuming, keep this one strictly for holidays, when there’s plenty of time.
